Yankton responds to mobile home fire
Yankton firefighters responded to a unoccupied mobile home fire Monday morning, Aug. 17, at 1:51 a.m. on Yankton’s east side. The fire was discovered by the police department on patrol.
Baler fire at Avon
At about 8 p.m. on Aug. 4, the Avon Fire Department responded to a baler fire on a farm west of Avon.
My warped sense of humor

Schools are back in session for most areas of the state.
Temple Theatre fire
Lightning struck the Main Street Cinemas building in the 100 block of North Main Street in Mt. Pleasant early on the morning of July 16, but smoke was not noticed until around noon.
Ag plane rescue class
On June 1, Jewell Fire and Rescue and Ellsworth Fire and EMS participated in an Ag Plane Rescue Drill held at a local private air strip south of Jewell.
Iowa Firefighters Memorial Service
The 22nd Annual Memorial Service will be held Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.
Time has flown by
I can honestly say that my time on the Iowa Firefighters Association board has flown by.
