DeWitt Volunteer Fire Department’s January training focused on firefighter movement, task efficiency and air management during interior operations. Members completed a skills course designed to replicate common movements, techniques, and work cycles encountered during structure fires while operating in full turnout gear and SCBA.

Yarmouth paged out to garage fire

Yarmouth Fire was paged out Sunday, Jan. 25, 10:10 a.m. to a garage fire. Mediapolis and Danville Fire were on auto page to assist. Mutual aid was requested from Morning Sun, Wapello, Winfield, Mt. Union and Olds Fire Departments. The fire was brought under control in five hours.

On October 26, the Belle Fourche Volunteer Fire Department hosted a Senior Level MLFTU training session. A total of 17 certified instructors participated in the training, 15 of those from west river so that our cache of Senior Lever instructors now statewide. Submitted by Don Ward, VP SDFA.

Car fire

Members of the Alpena and Town and Country Fire Departments responded to a car fire early on October 24. The fire was a result of a car vs. deer collision. No injuries were reported.
