Accident

     Yankton, Vermillion and Gayville firefighters responded to two injury accidents within five minutes of each other. The first accident was reported east of Yankton three miles on 309^th Street where a stolen vehicle chase resulted in a rollover where both occupants were ejected. Both were transported by Yankton ambulance to Yankton hospital. The second accident occurred north of Gayville at 309^th and 451^st Avenue where two vehicles collided nearly head on. The driver of the northbound vehicle received minor injuries and was transported by Vermillion Ambulance to a Vermillion Hospital. The driver of the southbound vehicle required extrication and was transported by Yankton Ambulance to Yankton Hospital with serious injuries. Submitted by Deputy Chief Larry Nickles.
