Dairy fire

On March 21 at 15:44 hours, both Scarville Fire Department and Lake Mills Fire Department were paged out for a tractor on fire inside a metal machine shed on the Sprecher Dairy Farm. They were assisted by Forest City Fire Department, Kiester MN Fire Department, Thompson Fire Department, Lake Mills ambulance, and Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department. Hay bales inside and piled outside the shed made it difficult to approach and extinguish the fire along with the normal challenges presented by a metal shed. The shed was totally destroyed.
