Carbon monoxide responses are easy to treat like routine calls. Most of the time, we are dispatched for an alarm activation, a beeping detector, or a vague report of someone “not feeling well.” There is no smoke showing, no visible hazard, and no obvious emergency from the street.

     On March 30, the Doty Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of a wildland fire in the 22000 block of Hazel Ln, unincorporated Pennington County, South Dakota.
