In December 2024 and January 2025, we examined the four attributes of smoke: velocity, volume, density, and color. Understanding each attribute is important, but firefighters must also know how to combine those observations into a quick, repeatable size-up.

     In this latest and greatest chapter in the ongoing novel I call articles. I first off hope everyone is enjoying their summer. I pray everyone is healthy and safe. But on to business.

On July 25 fire departments throughout Lake County responded to a rural house fire northeast of Ramona.

                  The Deadwood Fire Department held their monthly training, concentrating on their LTI ladder truck. A total of 15 members came out for the training.

     August is about here. It’s hard to believe! The convention mailing will be sent out to member departments the 1^st week of August.

     Firefighters controlled the fire at the Branding Iron Bistro within 20 minutes after arriving on scene. The call came in shortly after 8 p.m. on June 24.
